I was looking for some info to back up an argument about how colour affects perception of a brand, and I directed to these sites via the excellent Swiss Miss blog:
The first site is called Color Matters. It is a great site covering all aspects of colour and colour theory;
The second site, actually post, was A Guide to Choosing Colors for Your Brand, on the Usability Post site.
Quite the best resources I've seen today. My business partners and I have been coming up with a simple logo that would impact our customers and future clients. We just have started our home-based scrapbook supplies a month ago, and we're busy promoting our venture online. Of course, we already settled on the combination of warm and cool colors. A web design company is also helping us out. We do neet professional opinions as well. Cheers!

I do agree that color is very important in logos, and in website design as well, but I think that color only comes second to the font. Though it's difficult to visualize those iconic logos in a different color, it's not hard to see print and online examples of those logos in black and white, and yet they're still recognizable and effective. But once you change the font, it will all break down. So I guess the identity of a website or logo is primarily built upon the font used.
